Great Italian food but non halal - try Neroteca at Somerset Service Apts. This is on Lorong Ceylon right behind Jalan Raja Chulan. Rustic food served in a deli atmosphere. Small place with a few tables so advisable to book esp. on Friday night. The pastas are great esp. the Boscaiola - creamy mushroom with sausage. The sausage is unlike the usual ones we eat as it's air dried hence it can be chewy vs juicy.
For fantastic Western and great value for money - try Max Kitchen and Wines at Tengkat Tong Shin. Right next to Sao Nam, this is a great place to relax and enjoy fresh food. Recommended is the Shiraz Braised Wagyu Beef Cheeks with Mushroom Ragout and their Ocean Trout. They also serve Yabby Lobster Tails. Prices range from RM22 to RM60 for their appetizers and mains. Alternatively try their set lunch (appetizer and main) during weekdays for RM18++. Very good value as quality ingredients served - menu changes daily.
